Not even sure if my carboy was even dry from the blueberry wheat I bottled earlier in the week,  but decided to brew the White House Honey Ale,  aka Obama Ale.
Pretty easy recipe,  especially after I figured out that using a 4 quart stock pot as a spoon rest makes clean up much easier!
OG came in at 1.068
A quick Google search will get you the recipe,  and in about 5 weeks,  I'll let you know what I think of the recipe.

Second brew day in the last 7 days...

Picked up a blueberry wheat  kit from Jasper's Homebrew, as I'm a fan of the Sea Dog's blueberry wheat beer, and especially the recently discovered Wachusett Blueberry Ale.

Learning from my experience last summer, after adding 6.6 pounds of wheat malt extract, I used a blow off tube instead of trying to rely on an air lock.

OG came in at 1.052, which is at the top of the range listed for the recipe.

Update on March 27th

Bottled this today, FG was 1.016, which makes this brew come in at 4.73% ABV.  After my screwup in racking this beer to a secondary (instead of my double wit) after only a week, I can't complain.

Based on the sample tasted (from the hydrometer testing cylinder), this will be keeper.  The blueberry, both taste and smell, wasn't as strong as I'd hoped for, but I'll see in a couple weeks after it has a chance to carb up.

Decided to write down my adventures in home brewing beer so I can keep track of what I did, what worked, what didn't work, and so maybe I can help out other home brewers.
